5 days from Marrakech to Merzouga

1st Day: Marrakech – High Atlas – Telouat Kasbah – Ait Ben Haddou – Ounila Valley – Ouarzazate

Departure of our 5 days from Marrakech to Merzouga tour will be at 8:30 am from your accommodation in Marrakech we offer a 4 × 4 private vehicle or any other comfortable vehicle and we will go to Ouarzazate via the High Atlas.

On our way, we will see the port of Tizi Ntichka, with 2.260m is the highest point of our country. you have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful landscapes from the viewpoints and make a few stops to take pictures of the Berber villages.

Then we will take a small road that leads to the Kasbah of Telouat. After visiting the Kasbah, you will have free time to savor the typical cuisine of the city. In the afternoon, we will continue our 5 days from Marrakech to Merzouga passing by the valley of Ounila, where you will see small Berber villages and families living in villages. adobe houses lost in the mountains.

Reach the ksar (fortified village) of Ait Ben Haddou where we will visit the famous Kasbah (declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987). Many famous films have been shot on this spectacular stage, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, Sahara with Penélope Cruz … etc. After visiting the kasbah, we will go to Ouarzazate, nicknamed “the door of the desert”. Dinner at the hotel where we will spend the night.

2nd Day: Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Merzouga Desert – Camel ride and night in the Berber tent

After a delicious breakfast, we will take the road to the Drâa Valley, where you will see one of the longest rivers in Morocco. On our 5 days from Marrakech to Merzouga way, we make a few stops to take pictures and admire the view of the spectacular kasbahs and Berber villages that dot the road, as well as the beauties of the Draa Valley.

You will have free time for lunch at Nkob or Alnif. After two hours, we will reach the magnificent dunes of Merzouga. “Desert of powdery sand dunes”. We will change our motorized means of transport to an animal-drawn vehicle that will travel to the heart of the desert.

3rd Day: Merzouga Desert – Nomads Families – Tisardmin Oasis – Khamlia Village – Erg Chebbi

The 3rd day of 5 days from Marrakech to Merzouga is a full day in the desert. “Date with the sunrise” is absolutely important to get up early to contemplate the most spectacular sunrise you’ve ever seen at the top of a dune near the camp and enjoy this landscape is a gift of nature.

After sunrise, have breakfast and return to Merzouga on the camels or 4×4 vehicle. Then, we follow the Erg Chebbi, a big extension of the desert of sand which is the big dune of Morocco.

which has more than 250mts high. Then we continue by the road that was formerly used for the “Paris – Dakar” and ends in the mountains that limit with Algeria. Stop at the Tissardmin oasis where you can find fossil quarries still present in the area.

We continue along a road where we can see nomadic villages and learn their secrets and their customs. The next stop of our 5 days from Marrakech to Merzouga trip will be a point of view to contemplate the Erg Chebbi hole.

We will then reach the village of Kamilia, a native of Mali, where you will have the opportunity to have a relaxing cup of tea while listening to a concert of the spiritual music of Gnawa.

Transfer to your accommodation and free afternoon to enjoy from the city or dunes to the hotel to see the sunset. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. the end of the third day of the 5 days from Marrakech to Merzouga.

4th Day: Merzouga Desert – Rissani Market – Erfoud Fossil’s – Todra Gorges – Dadés Valley

On the morning of the 4th day of the 5 days from Marrakech to Merzouga, We leave the desert to Rissani where we will visit the market square, we will continue to Erfoud where we can visit the fossilized marble factories before leaving for the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad.

An hour later, we will reach one of the best places in the High Atlas, the Todra Gorge. The river race has dug a canyon on the side of a cliff and this is because of its beauty and its rock walls popular with climbers.

Free time for lunch in this beautiful place. we propose a short walk through the gorges is highly recommended to better appreciate the beauty of the landscape.

In the afternoon, we continue to the Dades Valley, also called the Valley of Figs crossing the Boumalne Dades, we will stop at the “heritage of the monkey”. Dinner and overnight at the Dades Gorge.

5th Day : Dadés Gorges – Roses Valley – Palm Groves of Skoura – High Atlas – Marrakech

This is the last day of the 5 days from Marrakech to Merzouga itinerary we start this day with a delicious breakfast, then you can admire one of the most beautiful views of the Dades Valley from a strategic mountain lookout.

From there, you will be able to appreciate the large number of kasbahs and the picturesque features of each of them. Then we continue with a road point with different kasbahs of tourist interest.

After a few stops, enjoy the “thousand kasbah road”. the valley of the roses and the big palm grove of Skoura, we will go to Ouarzazate to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, the former home of Glaoui or Marrakech Pacha.

We propose to make you visit the movie studios and the cinema museum if you are interested. Free time for lunch in town. In the afternoon, return to Marrakech via the mountain port of Tizi Ntichka with a few stops to take photos.

Here we leave the lunar landscape to reach another view full of colors. We will arrive in Marrakech around 8 hours, transfer to the hotel, and end of our 5 days from Marrakech to Merzouga.
