5 Days from Fes to Marrakech

1st Day: Fes – Cedar forests and monkey troops of Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

This is the first day of our 5 Days from Fes to Marrakech After a delicious breakfast in your riad, we will go south-east following the caravan routes towards Merzouga. During this trip, we will have a glimpse of the Middle Atlas and the High Atlas Mountains.

Stop at the cedar forest, the largest in Morocco, above the Middle Atlas Mountains – where you can see barbarian monkeys. After lunch in Midelt, we continue in the large open desert and notice how the landscape changes to reveal allusions to the desert as the city of Er Rachidia approaches.

Your journey continues in the lush valley of Ziz and palm Tafilalet, famous for the culture of the date. This region is the foundation of the Alawite dynasty – the ruling royal family in Morocco.

We will arrive in Merzouga at the end of the afternoon. we will be greeted with a glass of mint tea before registering in your riad. And the end of the first day of our 5 days from Fes to Marrakech.

2nd Day: Merzouga area – Rissani Market – Erg Chebbi – Camel trek and overnight in Berber tent

We will start the day with breakfast in the riad we will start an explorative journey of the area.

In the tour of 5 Days from Fes to Marrakech You’ll visit the Gnawa people – originally slaves brought from Sudan -to experience their music and lifestyle.

Not far away there’s the lake of Merzouga, with its bird populations. You also have the opportunity to visit the souk in Rissani, a traditional town that was the origin of the ruling family in Morocco and the meeting place of the Caravans trading as far as Timbuctou in Mali.

Here you will see a lot of men hooded and women veiled. Back to the village of Merzouga for some rest, in the afternoon you will mount your camel, guided by an experienced camel man to explore the sand sea of Merzouga.

Overnight will be at our desert camp, where you will have your dinner. For your convenience, the camp is equipped with western bathrooms. And the end of the second day of our 5 days from Fes to Marrakech.

3rd Day: Merzouga Desert – Todra Gorges – Palm Groves of Tinghir – Dades Gorges

You get up Early in the morning, your camel guide will wake you up to look at what might be the awesome sunrise. After sunrise, Have breakfast.

While leaving the desert en route, you will enjoy the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes, which change throughout the day.

Continue our road to Rissani, Tinghir, and Todra Gorge – the highest and narrowest gorge in Morocco.

Then after lunch in the heart of the gorge, we will cross the Dades Valley, where you can see the majestic sandcastles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkeys”. The night will be in a hotel overlooking the valley of Dades.

And the end of the third day of our 5 days from Fes to Marrakech.

4th Day: Dades Valley – Kasbah Amridil – Palm Groves of Skoura – Ouarzazate

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate.

The road through the Dades Valley is the path taken by the thousand kasbahs – offering many opportunities to take some of your best photographs of the trip. We will stop at Kalaat Mgouna, “the city of roses”.

We continue to Ouarzazate by the Kasbah of Amridil, one of the last Berber chiefs of the eighteenth century. Today, the Kasbah is the home of many Glaoui. At night, you will stop at Ouarzazate for dinner and a night in the Hotel.

And the end of the fourth day of our 5 days from Fes to Marrakech.

5th day: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Tizi n’Tichka Pass – Marrakech

This will be the last day of 5 Days from Fes to Marrakech You will have your morning breakfast at the riad, and we will finish our route to join the ksar (fortified village) of Ait Ben Haddou.

where we will visit the famous Kasbah (declared a world heritage by UNESCO in 1987). Many famous films have been shot on this spectacular stage, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, Sahara with Penélope Cruz … etc.

After visiting the kasbah we will go to Marrakech, we will see the port of Tizi Ntichka, with 2.260m is the highest point in our country.

We will enjoy the beautiful scenery from the viewpoints on the way and we will have a few stops to take photos of the Berber villages in the late afternoon and settle in your riad in the medina. you will spend the night at the riad.

After arriving in Marrakech you’ll be transferred to the Airport where our 5 Days from Fes to Marrakech will end.
